Fr Doug Chaplain, on behalf of Churches Together, assisted by Rev Marion Pengelly-Phillips, minister of the Baptist church, said a short prayer of dedication commemorating past struggles against intolerance and concluded with a plea for greater tolerance in the world today. Pam Davey said: "The choir was excellent and much appreciated by everyone. It was great to have the opportunity to hear, first hand, from the sculptress, Sara Ingleby-Mackenzie, of her thoughts when creating this splendid new feature for our historic town.
